WILL AI TALENT DELIVER? CAN AI PRODUCT/S BE CREATED AT WILL?

AI has delivered more than anything else on this planet in the last nearly three years. It is a tribute to their accomplishments that AI has become so mainstream in anything worthwhile in this world today, that the veers around it. And rightly so, as missing out on the AI bandwagon can throw away any individual or enterprise out of the mainstream. The challenge is who will define this brave new AI world; who among the well established AI giants or who all, which of the recognised startups will surge ahead or will be their outliers, who would just make their way into our solar system.

Launching of a new technology and developments thereof, has been a tedious process and happened only in an organic manner till now. The growth and stabilisation of AI has shared the same story so far. At the crossroads of the AI world, some who had done very well in the initial days of AI want to take the leap of faith. Now or never broadly is their thought process. The leap of faith is led by Meta, which feels that an outstanding AI product / service can be created by the talent available at Silicon valley. It is also of the firm view that such talent cannot be poached and ensembled into a team.

The team with the brand name Superintelligence is in the making. Mark Zurckerberg is convinced of the fact that in this manner he would be able to make a great team with the ability to deliver earth shattering results in a very short span of time. Can creation of a team can be made so simplistic to bringing talented people with demonstrated capability to deliver? Will it lead to the desired outcome at the end of the tunnel or the assembly line? This needs to happen in a field that has not great models to follow, options limitless and the competition has already turned out to be cut-throat.The team would be involved in a simultaneous technological and scientific research and productisation.

While leaving the question as to whether AI products can be made at will, suffice to say that the talent war in the AI industry goes unabated. One such famed very recent hire is the 24-year-old prodigy Matt Deitke, whose recent $250 million compensation from Meta has sent shockwaves through the industry, redefining the value of AI expertise. There is a clear-cut strategy for what is now termed as the Recruiting Party. The top brass discusses the tactics of approaching the potential candidates, mode of communication etc. WSJ reports many of the list have three main qualifications; a Ph.D in an AI related field, experience in a top lab and contributions to AI research breakthroughs. Besides, other companies are also working tirelessly to make their dream a reality, the future will remain to be both fascinating and challenging.
