MULTIMODAL NEW AI MODEL LIAMA 4

It’s been raining AI models since the ChatGPT caught the imagination of the people and became a household name in no time, and brought people into the mainstream of AI transformation.* After ChatGPT, the launch of DeepSeek was a watershed moment in the history of LLMs. Things that were established as facts in the AI development and growth in this world, were shattered in no time. The AI competition between the global IT behemoths has been getting more and more intense as the time passes. We cannot see the end in sight, but what is very clear is that we are on a robust journey of global tech transformation.

While we keep hearing of ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini on a regular basis, there is no denying the fact that Meta is also a serious contender to the AI throne. One thing is for sure, the customer is the winner and more often than not, it is free, at least the basic models. The basic model is enough to take care of nearly all our requirements. We are at a stage of technological advancement, where not known AI models which we need can go against us both at the personal usage level and also at the enterprise level. In tune with this exponential AI trend, on Saturday Meta Platforms released the latest version of its large language model (LLM) LIama, called LIama 4 Scout and LIama 4 Maverick.

On release Meta said that these two models are its “most advanced models yet” and “the best in their class for multimodality.” Llama is a multimodal system. To make things clear about this genre of models, is that it is capable of processing and integrating various types of data including text, video, images, and audio, and can convert content across these formats. DeepSeek made open source a strong contender for global commercial success and today all are getting onto this bandwagon in a serious way. Besides, these two models, the company was previewing LIama 4 Behemoth, which as per the company is “one of the smartest LLMs in the world, and the most powerful yet to serve as a teacher for our new models.”

Post ChatGPT and now with DeepSeek getting into our lives in a surreptitious manner altered the tech landscape and drove investment into machine learning. Meta has delayed the launch of LLM’s latest version, as during development, it did not meet Meta’s expectations on technical benchmarks, particularly reasoning and math tasks. In the area of conducting humanlike voice conversations this model falls short of the Open AI Models. With the intention of reigning the AI space Meta intends to spend as much as $65 billion this year to expand its AI iInfrastructure. This is happening amidst investor pressure on the big tech firms to show returns on their investment. The customer thus is having fun in the AI space.

THE LLM AI BATTLE DOESN’T SEEM TO BE GETTING RESOLVED SOON.
