INDIFFERENT TO MUCK!

INDIFFERENT TO MUCK!

Indifferent to muck is the Indian politician. Might be you it can be a notch higher – completely indifferent. Take any department of the game, this is the most visible and conspicuous attitude literally making everything non-doable and every requirement or demand non-sensible. The whole world might find sense in it. When in power, they become dispensers of largesse, of justice and the ones who can do no wrong. They have just been back from gruelling and arduous electioneering, as they feel and say; after seeing, witnessing and being told of the muck all around. Large part of them have experienced it themselves before hitting the portals of the hallowed legislatures, which one feels transforms them into indifferent personas.

During the electioneering too, they were into finding beneficiaries, tapping them psychologically and morally, their plight not impacting the politician one bit. The other group was throwing freebies, now euphemistically called guarantees. Now that the heat and dust is over, welcome to Lutyens Delhi. Time to relax, power play and make hay while the sun shines. After the sweltering heat, the welcome monsoon shower has started drowning the capital. One MP has to be physically lifted because of waterlogging. The water logging at Minto Bridge I have been seeing or hearing of it since 1982. Last year floods in Delhi speaks for itself.

The pride of India, it’s capital Delhi, takes a bridal look, whenever world leaders visit or big sarkari conferences happen. You will be ashamed to see its underbelly. The Indian political class can be called Indifference Personified. Then think of air quality in our beloved Delhi over the years, not one iota of improvement. Elections have come and gone, but most of the leaders have remained to make Delhiites battle for air to live. Added to that they say that they have come for public service. Public seems to have had more than enough of their public service. The second wave of Covid, this class was conspicuous by its absence. Sikhs organised Oxygen Langer, which saved the day. This was another feather in their cap.

Now the NEET exam scandal. Having been successful in making a mockery of competitive exams which are the lifeline of this poor nation, the only way for talent and merit to prevail, they have the audacity not to make amends. The lip service has gone on for a bit too long. People who should have been put over the coals, are the ones who are giving assurances of justice, having no idea of what they are talking about. It seems as if the nation is attending an unending public meeting, with election types lollipops all over. Are 2.4 million students destined to beg for justice / or ReNEET? That too beg the same powers that be, who have messed up with the exam. Everything that could go wrong in an exam went wrong, still there is no one to take a call.

INDIFFERENCE HAS RUINED THE NATION. THIS ROT HAS TO STOP.
Sanjay Sahay

Have a nice evening.
