NATIONAL CODING COMPETENCY TEST

It is quite weird that with all accreditations, degrees, certifications, benchmarks of all types in Computer Science; strict curriculum, regular classes, eight semester exams, scientific CGPAs, advertisements claiming the greatness of engineering colleges, the harsh reality is that 95% of the computer science and allied engineers in India are unfit for software development of jobs. Without bothering about the fate of these colleges and students, which they have battle with, how does the industry, government, academia, research do with these guys to produce the results?

According to Aspiring Minds, only 4.77% candidates can write correct logic for a programme – a minimum requirement for any programming job. Large number of computer science graduates are in non-coding jobs and so it the case of IT companies. It is a tragedy that such talent never got created. We have keep limping giving a feel that the workforce in IT companies are doing core IT work. ”Lack of programming skills is adversely impacting the IT and data science ecosystem in India.”

How does a customer know whom to hire whom not to? No procurement process will throw up will throw up the correct coding capabilities of the proposed software development teams. The rates quoted are at par with the best. The right product does not and cannot get delivered, this is the experience of anybody connected to this field, inclusive of the IT companies. They know what they have delivered. Every one cannot get proposes resources evaluated by Hacker Earth and the like. *National Coding Competency Test is the only answer.

This should become the base exam and certification for any software development job in this country. The requirements / skills are known and so is the evaluation process. Its just have to be hard coded into an exam. We have the expertise in conducting such exams, this can be final holy grail to hit the software industry. The composition of software vs other jobs in the software companies and the IT industry needs to change, in favour of product creation. Only then we can herald our arrival in the next stage of computerisation ie Automation.

CREATING SUSPECT CODING SKILLS IN PLAYING WITH FIRE IN EVERY INDUSTRY.
