THE RELEVANCE OF AI AGENTS – RELEVANCE AI

The daddies to tech might always not be right and they might not be even the first ones to hatch it. For sure for long they make known to the world as where the tech trajectory is moving towards. It turns as a north star to all and few make the best out of it. In not very recent times we have seen DeepMind as a research lab making waves, the not for profit OpenAI ending with the hypnotic ChatGPT transforming the world. Not to deny the fact that there would always be a DeepSeek moment. All that is happening in the Agentic AI space is not limited to IT behemoths, there is much more to it.

Who or who all will make it to the post only time will tell? All we can say now is that AI agents will increasingly become prevalent in the workspace. A BCG report says that the market for AI agents is expected to grow at a 45% annual compound growth rate over the next five years. AI agents could be onboarded to learn various roles, and unlike traditional automation tools, AI agents can constantly adapt and improve their operations. It is for this reason, funding is on offer for them, if you have the promise. Relevance AI is SFO and Sydney based startup developing an AI Agent “operating system” to enable businesses to build teams of AI agents.

For the promise that it has, it has been able to raise $24 million in Series B funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners. This funding comes close on the heels of its Series A funding, some one and half years back. The company has experienced rapid growth with 40,000 agents registered on its platform in January 2025 alone. Relevance AI’s customers include Qualified, Activision and Safety Culture. Revlance has to compete with the players in the Agent AI space like Retell, Queen.ai, SmythOS, Gooey, and Microsoft. It has to prove its worth with the funding already in place.

According to its Co-CEO and Co-founder, this five year old company sees agent builder platforms, vertical agent software, and agent engineering frameworks as its competition. What does Relevance offer? It helps the agents to really specialise in niche workflows of the organisation. The product / platform is tool and model agnostic, which allows the customers to leverage on the entire tech stack across their entire business. The new funding will help in two ways, one is to enhance product capabilities of its AI agents and provide support to the customers. It would also help add two new features to its platform, “Workforce”– a no-code multi-agent system and “Invent”– a tool that lets users create AI agents using text messages.

WILL AGENTIC AI BRING NICHE TO THE GENERIC AI REVOLUTION?
