CAN JOBS WITHOUT EXPERTISE DELIVER?

How much we try; jobs cannot deliver until and unless persons and professionals with right expertise don’t don those positions. These professional connections have been known since ages. Leave aside anybody else, the monarchs of the past were known for the skills, expertise, competencies of governance and war which made them stand out. Very rare they have been doubted for their skills and delivery and when that happened, they have been dumped into the dustbin of history. The prince was trained into the trade through a very oiled system machine that delivered  on the test of time. So was the case with other non-monarchical systems of governance.

The onset of democracy, which happens to be a much better system of rule and governance, has not been able to develop the professional expertise sufficient enough to deliver as per the job description. If something has really failed democracy, it is the political human resource which has been manning the political executive positions, all across the country. The constitution of the country has been written with such meticulous perfection, so as to deliver to the country, all that is requires to transform, but who will deliver. The apportioning of govt. posts or becoming elected representatives from designated constituencies has not been able to bring the social transformation, which should have happened a long time back. This clearly means there is more to the story.

Like anything else social transformation can be made to happen by people you have the expertise to do. The nature and reach of administrative machinery can make it happen, if the right expertise guides it. Standard formalized education is not the only way to gain expertise, there are lots of tech guys who have learned on their own. This can be an interesting model. But one thing is for sure, that without the expertise you cannot deliver and the worst part, you might not even know what you are blundering upon, so there is barely any chance for course correction. If you don’t know the law, how can you be a lawmaker? Having a formal degree or not is a different story. You need to know what you are legislating upon and how it works with those issues on the ground.

Complexity is increasing exponentially and lack of expertise is turning out to be suicidal for the nation. Any department, organization, ministry or a part of it, is headed by a political executive. The job which he handles has a clear-cut job description which is attached. How can the job be delivered without the requisite expertise? The management, leadership and decision making are precisely his. Expertise comes through a long regimen, which provides you the discipline and perseverance to deliver. The democratic nation deserves the right expertise, it expects from its Chief Executives and others who run democratic delivery machines from the constitutionally lofty positions. The electorate can demand expertise in place of rhetoric. Winning elections cannot be an all-encompassing political expertise for all jobs and on all occasions.

DEMOCRACY SANS EXPERTISE IS LAME!
