CREATING A FAKE WORLD!
If one skill, people of one ilk, learn the world over, to perfection, without being taught, is manipulation. World’s biggest tool to all that is bad & ugly, has unimaginable collaborators, neatly entwined, very difficult to decipher. Presumably, it’s not being taught in our homes, schools & colleges, then where does the perfection come from? Social media provides the most fertile & effective ground in the name of internet freedom.
ISIS’s dalliance with social media is as well known as the incapability of the world agencies to handle it. That’s been a known enemy, more pernicious manipulation is all afoot, unknown, unheard & unsung. Who knows 50,000 Facebook accounts would have turned the tide in favour of Trump. Global, complex and technical, US agencies have a job cut out for them. Second World War was handled by these powers but social media has ripped them apart. Twitter recently has supposedly cracked down on automation related content. It made some changes to its API or code. Bots are there to stay. Facebook & Twitter have no issues, just some verbal &technical lip service at times.
Coming to the lowest level, Search Engine Optimisation, SEO, is the game changer. Though technically termed as Optimisation, yet in reality, it is only manipulation . You get it for price & seems to have become a big business, tweaking requirements & ground rules of different social media’s in the most manipulative ways. The Manipulator has arrived.
Fall in likes are like depressants to the social media geeks, companies have come up manage you social media profile. Business & popularity are the prime movers. LinkedIn followers can be spiked, so can be for the likes, the accounts themselves. All parallel operations can be attended to: article with names, mainstream media presence etc. Who is faking whom nobody knows. In the process we are creating a fake world; ultimate manipulation.
