EDUCATION – BASE DELIVERABLES

A random survey can throw up what percentage of people find themselves handicapped for reasons of lack of a reading habit or good writing skills or ability to communicate. Leaving aside the degrees gathered, the basic goal of educational system is to make you a voracious reader, an erudite speaker & purposeful writer. The contention is not of every educated person become a man of knowledge because of his reading habit or becomes a writer or a public speaker. The issue is to have a very good level of these skills to conduct himself with satisfaction in their vocation. The educational system has failed in making us imbibe these skills.

In a knowledge based world, our existence is totally dependent on it. How does one garner knowledge without reading. Warren Buffet spends 80% of his time reading. Similar is the story of Noam Chomsky. How do we & how can we manage without reading, when the information base we require is changing dynamically. Students & professionals alike have learned the art skill of managing with ppts, created by somebody else. This has become a major handicap. Reading makes us equipped & empowered, confidence being a natural corollary.

If you don’t read, you cannot write. The question is not writing skill, you lack the content to make good for the requirements. We fall back on content writers who manage with minimum of standard content. The documents & correspondence smack of mediocrity & lack of clarity. If both reading & writing have no premium, from where does professional speaking come from. From a small sales pitch to influencing your board, you can only be a failure. All professionals who steal the show are quite adept in it.

These skills are a must for all. It is not just a value add to your professional certification & experience, it is as important. The blend of the two can only ensure real professional success.

THERE CANNOT BE A PROFESSIONAL SANS BEING A VORACIOUS READER, AN ERUDITE SPEAKER & A PURPOSEFUL WRITER.
