POLITICS VS POLITICAL PARTY VS ELECTIONS VS GOVERNMENT VS GOVERNANCE VS GROWTH VS IMPACT VS CITIZENS
Are we in a system which is in a multifarious pitched battle with itself. Linear or connected differently each of these were mandated have not ended up becoming an integrated whole, that was the promise of democracy. Bit porous here and there and operational friction is part of game. Some amount needs to be there to understand the intricacies of it and that to understand that it needs good amount of effort to keep it up and going. People who gain our this system find it running in perfect condition and they keep on justifying it at every forum and whenever they get a chance. On the other side are the vast electorate which is convinced of the fact that nothing great is going to change.
They have all accepted the luxury and style of the Indian ruling class and the changes that happen in someone, when he moves into the rarefied world of Indian elite. Maintaining a fake quality of living and style for your yourself and sustaining it for their progeny is only what they are concerned about. How did this politics, growth and citizens plight get created in the manner it did? It happened when everyone We are one of its kind people to make this happen? And crazier than that, we are happily living it. We are not reacting to it is the ultimate trait of the Indian DNA. The crazy connection each antithetical to the other from politics to political party to elections to government to governance to growth to impact and the hapless citizen is the prevailing fact of India.
There is a fixed and also an evolving system of politics and unacceptable political culture in this country. Large number of political parties mostly new or not mainstream complain of its existence. But the harsh reality is that as soon as they taste power they get into the same fold, though they keep on expressing differently for a long time. So, politics and good political parties are antithetical. Then what about political parties and the elections. Do our political parties carry the culture of democratic elections, though they have been participating in it since times immemorial? Only one fact would make the scenario amply clear, that the forces deployment during the elections gives a feeling that it is wartime. What an irony? Democratic elections have an spectre of war. So political parties are antithetical to democratic elections.
What nature of connect does the current type of elections have with government formation and government? Does the will of the people prevail? Coalition and all sorts of games what they play! Leader of legislature party is a nominee of the high command. Ministers are cleared from somewhere unknown. Competencies the less said the better. So, elections are antithetical to copybook democratic governments, who can deliver on the mandate. So, naturally the governments don’t the capability or will to deliver governance, which the country requires or is mandated by the constitution and laws of the land. The functional formula thus is of government vs governance. In this antithetical system workflow narrated so far, how does growth happen? Some things are bound to happen in governmental arena given the vast array of activities, those and whatever else that can be proclaimed as growth is sold to the masses as the hyperbole of growth. If the growth formula is weird with no parameters in place and no performance to go by, self-certification becomes the final killer. This is the impact on the hapless masses who would get up again to cast his vote on his undying hope.
