SINGLE FOCUSED MINDS
For the first time in human history all minds are focused on one single thought and that is the battle against corona. What international travel and internet could not do in decades has happened in weeks, we discuss of China, Italy, Spain or the US as they are just a few kilometres away. The single focused minds is the creation of the fact that our destinies are completely tied to each other. The lowering in the number of new infections in Italy gives us hope in the backwaters of India.
The governments across the globe have only one agenda is how to contain and then do away with the menace. That all the world’s resources and energies would not be sufficient to find one single health crisis was unknown to mankind. Now that it has happened and the whole world is in a lockdown, the only thought that plays on human mind is the Corona crisis. What to drink, what not do, how to be positively engaged, how to manage the scare rations, every single one of us can write his memoirs running to at least tens of pages.
It’s like the war news of the yesteryears, the nations thoughts and sentiments were surcharged, even at height of world wars would be few nations, even though the world got impacted in different ways. Here the theatre of war is right there, the street outside your home, your newspaper, the vegetable you buy, any surface you touch, war has thus been brought right into our homes. And still you can’t see the enemy and you have keep battling with. Where is time to think of something else.
The opening of lockdown is not a straight decision as that of the one of lockdown. The complexities are immense and all human mind are tied to it, from the decision makers to health care providers to a migrant labourer. Normalcy is the biggest dream we aspire of. The step and step opening up simultaneously maintaining all that is required to continue the battle against corona would be one of the most complicated administrative exercises in the history of mankind. The final thought being that it should not recur.
