COLLABORATIVE GLOBAL GOVERNANCE
While it has long been proclaimed that world has become a global village, the necessary collaborative global governance that should have simultaneously emanated does not seem to be anywhere on the horizon. Collaborative Global Governance as a concept and practice means that all governments but for rogue states, have clear common understanding of all issues transcending national boundaries, that can necessarily be governed only at the global level. These issues don’t have national, bilateral and multilateral solutions. The protocols and practices operational enough within the time dictated by the modern world / issue / situation and energy commensurate to the issue is the need of the hour.
The lead taken by the international agencies at the platforms and agenda of their choice, steering clear of contentious issues for their existence, has delivered tonnes of high quality documentation and video footages but hardly anything worth showcasing as operational solutions, global interface documents, enforcement mechanism, considerable cutting down on turn around time in the protocols / treaties already in operation. National governance with an international camouflage is not going to last for long. Neither, furthering of business and military interests in the name of international diplomacy is going to last forever.
Till today we do not have a definition of terrorism. And then how can we expect a definition and protocol on Cyber Security. It is running riot across institutions, business enterprises and governments worldwide. Does it not deserve to at the top Global Governance Agenda. What have we made of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights since its coming into being in 1948. With it being enshrined in constitutions, national laws and operational procedures, what has been achieved so far? All associated have been having a global quality of life.
Posterity will never forgive us for the crimes against humanity emanating out of callous attitudes of stakeholders globally. Climate change is not a matter of opinion to be defined by the convenience of a nation state. Losing our biggest asset called Data to IT behemoths is nobody’s concern. The huge commissions on remittances has not pained anybody. Bitcoin is an answer. Dubai is going the Blockchain way. Can it not become the backbone of global governance?
SERIOUS TIME BOUND COLLABORATIVE GLOBAL GOVERNANCE IS AN ANSWER TO TRANSNATIONAL ISSUES OT THE DAY.
