NOW DARK WEB GETS HACKED!

Hacks, data broking and data manipulation has now become a part of the Surface Web as we call it, it contrast of the Dark Web, which is nefarious part of the Internet. These websites are not indexed and hence the regular search engines like Google and Bing cannot crawl into these sites. Getting into the Dark Web has never been easy given the nature of access controls in place. The general presumption was that the Dark Web is immune to hacking. Now that final myth is also busted.

Daniel’s hosting, a leading Dark web hosting service provider’s server was hacked, bringing down 6,500 websites. The Dark web hosting service providers let anybody host a website without revealing their identify. Their are mostly not engaged in legitimate activities. Daniel’s hosting has an interesting business model, might be in the interest of their nature of business, the lost data cannot be recovered from any of these 6,500 websites, ad the company does not maintain any backup.

In the super secure digital fortress which the Dark Web is, the company is still trying to figure out the vulnerability. The hosting provider is still looking for hacker’s point entry of entry. Fixing the vulnerability is a must. Only then it will be possible to get back into service. Daniel Winzen, the man behind Danilel’s hosting has confirmed the hack and the incident took place between 10.00 pm and 11 pm UTC, on November 15, 2018. Daniel’s hosting is one of the largest providers of Dark Web hosting services.

As per the head of of the organization, someone got access to the database and deleted all the accounts. He added that the “server’s root account was also deleted and that all 6,500+ Dark Web services hosted on the platform are now gone.” Currently, one flaw has been identified, a PHP zero-day vulnerability. The Russian PHP programming circles knew the details of this unpatched vulnerability for a month. It gained a lot of attention among the wider programming and infosec communities on Nov 14, a day before the hack. Only a thorough investigation can unravel the truth.

HACKERS ARE IN CONTROL OF THE DIGITAL WORLD, HOWEVER MUCH WE DISAGREE.
