Undeniably, the exponential age has arrived and exponential change is being experienced by one and all. Might be we can are not able to make out still and yet to get the visible feel of it. But that is bound to happen. The process of machining our brain has gone for quite sometime and that has become our definition of professionalism & excellence. That is not enough for present age we are in, where creativity & innovation have become the flavour of our existence.

Machine mind as well call it, is a mechanism by its very nature is happy to handle checklists, templates, add voice to the company ppts, write standardised reports but it is unable to add real value. All this would get automated. Time, thus to switch over to the default mode of the brain, the wanderer, the explorer and this the creator as well. This is also called the Monkey Mind, with characteristics of, ”unsettled, restless, capricious, whimsical, fanciful, inconstant, confused, indecisive and uncomfortable,” will come into play.

Machine / executive mode and the default mode will interplay. The machine mode controls the problem statement and the final execution. The default mode create the breakthroughs; the creative & innovative solutions. The Ahas & the Eureka moments, so necessary for our existence today. A series of these breakthroughs will define the future of mankind. Devoid of breakthrough thinking, the professional would lose to the machine.

The capability to create this thinking depends on how comfortable we are with new information & ideas. Routine needs to be broken. Thinkers can graduate to breakthrough thinking. Non-thinkers can’t. Reading & hobbies will facilitate this mental mode. Machine time should become more and more man time. Finally, we develop seamless mind modes where creativity & execution synergise to create endless breakthroughs, which the future holds for us.
