DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO SHARE?
Whatever might be the present connotation of ”to share,” my understanding is something worthwhile can be shared. A intellectual / operative product, document, thought, idea or narrative which has added to your life, professional or personal and you would like to bring it to the notice of the wider world, so that they gain out of it. That would for sure be a far cry when most what is being churned out, is devoid of even neat sentences or any sentence structure for that matter. Even the worst of the articles are not written in this manner.
What is worth sharing comes out of rigour, hard work, experience, suffering not to talk of grit, courage, determination or perseverance. Are these the inputs of what we write in the public domain, can that information lead to something worthy of emulation. The beauty of this dire situation is that the original is also like fake and that is the reason why fakes are having a field day. After reading the quality of stuff on the social media for around a decade now, our capability to understand and appreciate quality stuff had decidedly dwindled. It does not augur well for future, as our ability to understand propaganda and falsehood has been completely decimated.
If you have never read anything original, never experienced anything original, never made an effort to reach for the fact, never delivered any lecture full of facts and substantiation, never been grilled over the coals for wrong facts, figures or narrative, you cease the right to write. We have finally brought the world to a bunch of opinions, a state where nothing is right or wrong. Picking up that trash and circulating it in a cesspool of falsehood, propaganda, fanciful advertisements, false claims etc is not going to bring us any glory. If you can’t even write what you do, what will you have to share with the world.
Academic journals have become deep fakes. It is like sub prime mortgage crisis leading to the 2008 recession. This is a whirlpool which we have created, feeling we will never land into it. With regards to writings, facts, opinions and sharing, you will never get the feel, that you get in a financial crisis but the impact it creates is way more humungous. Financial crisis does end. But a crisis of right thinking minds, a sense of discipline in public discourse, total skewed understanding of both effort and time lands us in an abyss, which from the present standpoint, we will never be able to come out.
