Local Karur police filed FIR against four TVK functionaries but made only token arrests (both bailed quickly), conveniently sidestepping their own glaring failures.
No police in their sane mind would have selected that venue more so in the backdrop of Vijay’s political rallies and roadshows. Police negligence was blatant; 500 personnel for massive crowds, no barricades, ignored their own warnings about venue unsuitability and Vijay's 7-hour delay. Yet Karur police faced no accountability while DMK government played safe politics: first appointing a biased judicial commission (later quashed by Supreme Court), then a short-lived Madras HC SIT that vanished into thin air when SC handed it to CBI.
CBI raided TVK offices, seized CCTV, questioned 100+ including Vijay's Delhi grilling today on rally delays and exit timing, but no charge sheet emerged, nor is the line of investigation clear. Is there nobody ready to take the call? Vijay walks free uncharged, while TVK cries conspiracy, DMK shields local cops. Is political convenience the order of the day? BJP demands action—pure political theatre leaving 41 families without closure or confidence.
Do the investigators want to come to an objective and empirical conclusion by way of a chargesheet, based on the well established canons of investigation? This endless blame game proves criminal investigation has become Political Criminal Investigation. Victims sacrificed at the altar of political ambition get neither justice nor remembrance.
