PORSCHE MAN MADE ACCIDENT CASE : SYSTEM IN THE DOCK?

We hear of a number of cases where investigation was presumably doctored. It was in the realm of conjecture for the masses. Depending on lapses brought forth with some substantiation or seemingly justice not being done, the people generally take a call. That the system is unfair is the impression that people generally carry. If we believe their judgement is electing governments after governments, certainly this impression can’t be wrong. Lots have gone through the travails of the criminal justice system and have come out with heart-rending experiences mostly.

We mostly talk of black sheep, whenever someone in the system is caught in the act. We brush it over as an aberration and life gets back to the normal routine. The Rajkot and Delhi fire accidents have their own story. If there is divine curse it should fall on all the conspirators. That the system is termite ridden, is even better exposed by the Prosche man made accident case. There is no other way to describe it. The mother’s blood sample being swapped for the teenager’s seems to be the proverbial last straw on the camel’s back of investigation. Or are there more to come? Even reading it puts you both in shame and fear.

Yet the indifference in the system continues. There is no hue and cry by the powers that be. Nobody seems to be up in arms. The social media bubble would dissipate. What a tragedy? The Juvenile Justice Board members are themselves under the scanner, their Chief running for cover when the media wanted to talk to him. For the uninitiated in this case even now, I will put the facts straight. The traffic police did not act for months together, when the vehicle was presumably on the killing spree, waiting for an accident to happen. The transport department allowed this vehicle to move around literally without any registration. The legal age for consuming liquor in Maharashtra is 25, if I go by the public domain information. It would be difficult to find cases for violating this law taken up by the excise department by pubs or the young people themselves.

The degeneration of healthcare in the government hospital was exposed in an exemplary way leading to the arrest of the Chief Medical Officer and the Head of the Forensic Science Department. Police played its stellar role in bringing forth negligence and dereliction of duty as their main elements of criminal investigation, till the time they were left with no choice but to act. The Inspector of jurisdictional police station and one more police official has been shown the door. One the social / family side. What is killing is no fear of law and the ultimate faith that they would be able to manipulate the system successfully. Father’s role apart, what obnoxious cover up the mother and grandfather were attempted. They out beat the professional criminals. Do you see any light at the end of the criminal justice tunnel?

CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM AND THE FAMED INDIAN FAMILY AND ITS VALUES ARE IN SHREDS. CAN ONLY CIVIL SOCIETY BE THE SAVIOUR?

Have a nice evening.
