CAN GOVT., BUSINESS & SOCIETY MEET?
When Steve Jobs talked about we being at the cross roads of technology and humanities, it was much simpler world then. The intersection of the two could deliver the desired results or so it was thought. With technologies become complex and intensive by the day, the reach of the Govt’s to effectively control the IT behemoths seems to be waning. In reality, it is trying to gain control for the first time and that doesn’t seem to be happening.
The complex reality of the day is whether it the Sustainable Development Goals, the blooming of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 or the target of $5 trillion economy in the next five years, individually or cumulatively cannot be achieved without Govt and businesses coming together. More so the IT behemoths who control the value add and the connect to the future of mankind; machine learning and artificial intelligence. Communities and societies have to be aligned and have to be made active participants in the whole game plan.
With this in place their ought be single minded focused attempt of mapping all the emerging technolgies with industy and sector, create an adoption model, based on intensive R&D and push it hard. The involvement of society would bring down the resistance to these technologies inside business corporations and the government. Pushing it as an intensive model of change cannot happen without the willing acceptance of the society.
With government understanding the impact and benefit and pace of growth that can managed in this manner, it would facilitate to make it happen. The capitalist America had its own day of doing it, the Communist China has shown its own model of achieving it, we have find our own model. The display of a successful model would bring the societies and nation into its fold. That would be the ecosystem India has been yearning for. It can deliver anything.
UNISON OF THOUGHT OF GOVT, BUSINESS AND SOCIETY IS THE HARBINGER OF AN IMPENDING TECH REVOLUTION.
