CYBER SECURITY INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MINDSET – THE WAY FORWARD
An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth is retribution and a product for the expressed requirements is a solution. In the days of complex legal, technical systems both have outlived its utility. We live in the world of integrated systems and integrated solutions, which are the real worlds tangible functional manifestation.
Integrated Systems Mindset is still not in vogue in this country and thus the cost benefit analysis is also flawed. What Cyber Security can cost to the individual, society, business entity and nation at large, remains grossly not understood.
Intrusion prevention & detection systems and few other add-ons was the vendors prescription, while hacks and breaches go on unabated. Perfect understanding of integrated system can only throw up an integrated solution, customised to actual needs with a good understanding of the fast changing cyber security landscape globally with every passing day. Hacking knows no geography.
This would be an ongoing process, the iterative way, evolving one of its kind sustainable solutions in the ongoing Asymmetric War.
As we think linear, this exponential mindset does not come naturally to us. The sooner the better.
