UNCONVENTIONAL KNOWLEDGE – THE WAY FORWARD
We have all been fully accustomed with conventional knowledge creation, the mode of it being imparted, the method of consumption, the level of assimilation and henceforth usage. The knowledge assimilation is with limited purpose and when the purpose gets served, you are bound to lose your steam. This is the story for the large part of our conventional education, learning and knowledge, if any, from the school to post-doctoral and even in the professional arena. The path breaking business enterprises and research institutions have created a growth trajectory ideally suited for them. Does this have any diffusion with the outside world? Are others with the limited knowledge, competent to manage in this world? Has the conventional knowledge system made us myopic?
There is a reward attached to every knowledge effort. It is the biggest curse of the conventional knowledge system we have created. The second and bigger curse is that once you get the degree, certificate or doctorate, the recipients declare themselves as knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the paradigm of knowledge has completely shifted. We seem to have been stuck up in a time machine. Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary knowledge and expertise has become the order of the day. Hands on in only on. What you deliver is knowledge. Knowledge becomes an enabler for operational and functional success in everything. In this scenario, DailyPost was born. Slowly and steadily it has grown into the biggest Dynamic Digital Knowledge Repository created by one single person.
Disruptive technologies and digital transformation enmeshed human life in a manner unimaginable. The standard technological and IT world was put on its head. The topics for the DailyPost kept tumbling with an amazing speed, there was never a dull moment, when I ran out of topics. Technology has become the world’s prime mover and it kept on increasing till the time COVID-19 heralded our aggressive entry into Digital Immersion Age. *Similarly, technology remains the prism through which we see the world, it has been DailyPost’s permanent propellant.
Delineating technology through our life and existence has been the vision and mission of the DailyPost. Technology for technology’s sake has brought this far and for sure it can take us no further. Technology Sutradhars rule the world. The mix of technology, management and governance can be found as a predominant thread through the posts. What trajectory technology / technologists should take to be worldly relevant is another message, the scale of impact is still nascent. India needs its own technology enabled trajectory in every area. On the other hand, the approach of non-technologist also needs a phenomenal change. This paradigm shift needs to happen.
