DISCERNING THE EXPONENTIAL BUSINESS TREND
Having an eagle’s eye to discern the product or model that would overwhelm the world is the business intelligence of an entrepreneur or a CEO in the EXPONENTIAL AGE. The trends are extremely nebulous to start with and become distinct at a stage when the race is lost, the real business guys would have taken the advantage.
The digital camera is a case in point. It’s creation in 1975 and it’s growth till around 1978 went broadly unnoticed and by 2001 it had taken over the world. In the process Kodak became history. Business research and business intelligence ought to focus on the bigger picture while being specific, rather than only mundane day to day operational and incremental growth issues.
Technologies, products and processes galore are for sure growing at an exponential rate. Actionable business research is the answer. By 2024, two thirds of companies ruling the world, have either not been born or are too small to be noticed. Exponential Age by its very nature does not support the laggards.
Human mind is fine tuned to millions of years of linear progression and lacks a natural alignment with exponential progression.
