FROM POLITICAL THINKERS TO CREATIVE WRITERS
The vast expanse of expertise which a group of sub generalists have, has to be seen to be believed. From political thinkers to creative writers to models to media / mass communication experts and at times visionaries and statesmen, they have it all. They can become brand ambassadors or a tourism aficionado, their roles are endless. They have not been educated or trained into it, but they perform all these roles and many more with elan. They feel they are better than experts in that area and can pull off anything anytime at their whims and fancies. What happens of it later, is a different story.
The coverage they get would be an envy for even the world-renowned experts in that field. Their knowledge notwithstanding, they are queued for interviews and the whole of the public domain space is covered by whatever they speak, what it means for one single individual or for the nation as whole, no one can fathom out. They adorn conferences and seminars in nearly every area and declare each as their own. Working out of printed or borrowed scripts most of the times, they declare it as their own. Once the utility or the event or function is over, there itself the subject /issues comes to an end and even the narrative which they had publicly proclaimed.
How did they acquire these skills needs to be researched for our good? Without knowing the psychology of our masters, we will never be able to understand what they do and why they do; the hidden agenda, the inner wheeling dealing, their thought for the future, if any and whether they are attitudinally enabled or otherwise to deliver, what they are mandated to, leave aside what the proclaim. They don’t command respect; they demand and most of times it would become difficult to escape, if the expected respect is not provided.
This is the political class of this nation. Whether in or out of power their lip service to the cause of the people is iconic. Either the large masses don’t understand or they have not choice. The ones who do understand don’t what to get into the mess, which they are certain that they will not be able to manage. Society which in democratic language happens to be their masters has completely caved in, is sad commentary of our times. The best part about playing all these roles, or any role anytime, is that they are accountable to none. So, they don’t pick up any, with effort and dedication. They just perform. Democracy is stage, where once you have cast your vote, you are worse than an onlooker.
