PICS RULE OUR WORLD TODAY!
From photos to pictures & now pics; that too a whole load of it, rule the social media & henceforth rule our lives and the world today. The gloss of the events have surreptitiously entered have entered our personal lives as well, through pics & likes & comments on it, is slowly redefining our well being and happiness. Gone are days when every activity our lives started with invoking the Gods, today it is invoked by the pictures we upload & the Social Media has become the reigning deity of our lives.
While going through the posts on the social media we are forced to believe that individuals treat it as their best and also a sacred interface with the rest of the world. There is no denying the fact that a picture is worth a thousand words but unfortunately the pics barely have even a few words of story behind them, but for the change of attire & location & the time of the day / seasons / weather & sometimes the mood of the person. At the backend the story is non-existent. Likes / Vows / Awesomes are the beginning & end of the story.
Technology is the driving force today & through social media it has changed the landscape of our social existence nearly completely, even if we remain, in a permanent mode of denial . Stretching the argument further, the pics & the videos are dictating our national narrative. The sad part is that it is utterly superficial & starts with a earth shattering note & more often than not, ends in a whimper.
Though the pics makes images an permanent imprint on our minds, we are still to judge the impact thereof, if personalities behind those images make even a slightest bit of impact on us. A global publishing industry is made available to every individual today, the opportunity seems to getting frittered away . This chance to make our mark in public domain is not happening generally with some worthwhile exceptions. Making our life restricted to pics thus is symptomatic of a bigger malaise of not putting in our best for larger & more purposeful goals .
