TECH – BUSINESS AT CROSS PURPOSES!
Tech should converge into business or business should take the right tech product and move ahead in the general understanding we all have. Unfortunately, none of the two is happening. Tech without a business model is worse than a pipe dream and business without a robust tech support today is like building castles in mid-air. As we move into the Industrial Revolution 4.0 this dichotomy has be sorted out in the interest of the country.
With dashboards, pie charts, instant messaging, notifications, awareness, training, empowerment, low end solutions if any becoming the buzz word in the Start Up and even in the tech world, who will dabble with the nitty gritty of hard core technology and break his head over hard core solutions. With Internet of Things, IoT, being a buzzword, how many us bother to know about the cost of sensors, why it is not becoming a common place? It is so difficult to find any worthwhile used case in the pathbreaking field.
In a world full of CCTVs we are not working either of the electronics part of it nor are we working on the firmware, which decides it basic functioning. In the blockchain technology its the same story again, there has not been any worthwhile research and thus no product, no great used case. The ones in the market can barely do the verification part. We have been missing the woods for the trees. You cannot remain in business when you can’t make a business out your business activity.
Tech cannot be a purely R&D activity when you mandated purpose it to go commercial. Machine Learning and AI is also being used in a very flimsy manner by the nascent enterprises. It does not stick. It cannot. It is the business of tech and not independent of it. Company after company have fallen in this trap. At the cross roads are not only the entrepreneurs but the whole ecosystem supporting them. This gap has to be bridged to move ahead. Majority of Start Ups would be successes if they follow this formula.
