THE LEVELLER EXPERIENCE
It is one of our favourite activity to narrate an experience to a friend, relative or an audience till the time they end up in sheer amazement. Experience sharing thus is done in various modes, mediums and ways. That is what human achievements and the world be go through are made of. More than half of what we talk, profess, do and act have a strong backdrop of our individual experiences, societal and also sometimes national; wars or terrorism or a great natural disaster. Very rare we have experiences transcending national borders, inclusive of the scourge of terrorism and that too being purely an individual experience too.
While being an individual experience, it is also shared by nearly all individuals across the world; feelings, stress, fears and anxieties being exactly the same. IT had united the world of a different kind, lacking in humanity, pushing the mercenary machine of capitalism to the seams and making us believe that instant multimedia communication is the panacea of the world. It was facilitating our urge to lose touch with reality. Everybody was busy every time. Brick and mortar was generally missing.
The experiences in recent years have been more for the social media and less for oneself. A rock solid superstructure was being built on not so supporting infrastructure. Hunan looked distant even a couple of weeks back. Money is not able to sort out anything today. The dream story of failsafe infrastructure, state of art health facilities and that they can deliver the world anytime, anywhere and any number of times is ripped apart in the open.
When crisis hits all behave in a similar manner, even more so when the enemy is both lethal and unseen. When uncertainty is thicker than smoke, whenever everyone is unsure of the result and time taken for recovery, the feelings will have to the same. The same lockdown, same loneliness and a shared future in social distancing and isolation. This is the Leveller Experience the whole world had never experienced together. Hopefully, a new community and humanity will emerge out of it.
THAT WE SHARE THE SAME WORLD AND ALSO THE SAME FATE WILL BE ELEVATING FOR US ALL.
