THE PACE IS KILLING!
The world has completely transformed in the last few years. The pace is accelerating beyond our imagination and extremely difficult to catch up. It seems we have been caught in wilderness, may it technological, economic, social or political change. We as a nation ought to align with these changes otherwise likelihood of missing the bus once again seems to be the eventual reality.
To fathom out the nitty gritty of change, understand the undercurrents, devise a strategy to integrate the change is our lives; both at the professional and personal level, can bring about consequent positive change. With our abysmal level of quality in education sector, we are not ready to tap free world class content being made available to us by likes of Khan Academy & Coursera. The substandard coaching institutions still have a field day all over, having an irreparable impact on the next generation.
Without understanding the depths of the Cyber world, we are latching on to its services, the perils notwithstanding. Cyber frauds are challenging our very existence itself. Social and personal lives are being devastated. The financial assets also are getting compromised and so is the critical infrastructure. Democracy itself was hacked in the US. How far can we proceed in this scenario without being prepared for it?
The world without secrets is the world we heading for. Have we ever given it thought. Imagine of situation of all your intimate to financial details being out in the open. It is happening on a day to day basis. It can happen to you as well. Don’t wait for that doomsday. For sure, it would be too late. George Orwell’s 1984 would not look even as poor cousin to the things which have already become the order of the day.
Law has to catch up with the changing times. We live in the 21st century with 20th century institutions and 19th century mindset. That’s the irony of our times.
