THE SMART WAY
Smart is slowly becoming coterminous with intelligent systems, which backend IT Systems are throwing up in all sectors. We regularly hear this refrain that we need work smarter rather than harder. From this emanates a The Smart Way , the concept that has gained prominence but has hardly delivered any results. The Smart Way delivery is yet to start; in most instances it starts “The Smart Way” and ends up in a total fiasco.
With it being extremely difficult to decipher what is The Smart Way and on what matrix and with what deliverables, the understanding is that we should go by the spoken word. Unfortunately, business & life does not work on the spoken word, whatever might by the level of oratory . If this were to be a methodology of the so called modern world, it should have had all the attributes associated with a methodology, capability to measure, replicate and get objective results again and again, after performing the same list is activities in a prescribed workflow.
This has not taken a concrete shape and it has turned out to be; to each to his own. Mostly it is being considered as an alternative to hard work which does not happen in this world. It is also based to the presumption that the earlier systems, well documented and performing are / were not performing. That individual wisdom takes precedence over demonstrated cumulative knowledge / delivery cannot be accepted.
What is not measured is not done; this is precisely the case with much touted The Smart Way. It cannot be measured either. Seems to be a ploy for the gullible friends & sympathizers and taking a step further, the customer. The current Start Up Way is certainly not a smart way.
THE WAY TO CREATE AN ENDURING BUSINESS ENTITY IS THE SMARTEST WAY. REST IS SOFT PEDALING.
