DELVE A FEW LAYERS DEEP!

A superficial understanding provides only an ephemeral peep into the reality,  inconsistent to real requirements of the day, on topics / issues / subjects / events / systems and processes.  Delving deeper a few layers and the understanding changes, sometimes, completely different from our initial understanding, a complex picture, a more purposeful one, with nitty gritty, which gives clarity and has the capability to be worked upon.  This is the beginning of a worthwhile narrative; an original one & capable of facilitating change.

As we slowly open up layers as in the case of an onion, the true picture emerges; uncluttered and real.  World is not as objective as it made out to be.  Best of the scientific facts; objective on the periphery throws up immense subjectivity & also possibilities and opportunities.  This is the area which understood properly provides the wherewithal to make a meaning difference to the issue at hand.

If we take the famed Indian Software Industry, we realise, it has to do very little with the creation of software, as we understand in terms of creating products and making it a valuable business proposition.  Here it’s all about effort & cost calculation, what is infamously termed as  body shopping.  Maintenance / AMCs happen to be the core of the business,  creativity & innovation is barely seen anywhere in the functioning of one Software Enterprise after another.

Cyber Security  is another areas facing a similar fate over and over again.  Products are made to quick fix with requirements, which generally does not deliver the exact results.  The problem has to be gone through, couple of layers deeper with the local and the international context in mind.  A product is not a solution and solution is not a product is the adage we have to go by.

Same story replicates in all areas from academics / research / manufacturing to politics / governance and finance.

IN DEPTH KNOWLEDGE IS THE KEY TO BETTER DECISION MAKING & EXECUTION.
