TIME SPENT IS YOUR PERSONALITY?
However much you might proclaim what you are, is not going to make any difference, not supported by time spend for the purpose at the backend. Knowing what one spends is time on, is a sure shot way of knowing a person and if followed consistently, you would never go wrong. The person himself does not know, what he spends his time on and that revelation would be a revelation of a lifetime and if analysed empirically and critically would help improve his quality of life and its direction.
The singers, painters, sportsmen etc give us a very clear idea of the time spend and nature and quality of professional and personal traits one possesses. Their performances are the best judge. In most of the other fields it is not so evident and that gives enough of an elbow room to people to make believe facts for themselves and to extrapolate it to others as well. To become an eagle you have to be with eagles. The time spend in this manner would clearly decide the trajectory of your professional direction and growth.
The cumulative of the time spend on few of the contributory components would add up into a full bloomed professional. All corporate CVs talk of excellent communication skills both written and oral but we don’t find any time spend on reading or any time spend on technical documentation. If you don’t read and write where does the excellent communication skills comes from. How much time do you spend in preparing for a board presentation and how many times you have been successful? The time spend has to be quality time with the capability to deliver, else it is whiling away time.
If you major quantum of time is spend on your social being, inside or outside the profession; on social events, even official events, interpersonal relationships maintenance, taking care of people socially, managing things, finding out the backend nitty gritty of people and all such futile exercises, you can decide for yourself as what you can / have to contribute in the left over time in an age fighting for your time for a life of creativity, innovation and relevance.
THE MRI OF YOUR TIME SPENT IS YOUR TRUE BEING; PROFESSIONAL & SOCIAL.
