WITH EMOTIONS WE COME & WITH EMOTIONS WE GO
Barrack Obama made his final emotional assault on the American public and the world, in his farewell speech, with his trademark flair, finesse and finality, in the same way as he began his presidential career. The interregnum cannot be treated as bright and certainly unemotional to those faced with non-delivery of the promised deliverables. Oratory with emotional pitch is as much a hallmark of democracy as universal adult suffrage. This has been for long a major sales pitch.
Marketing hope is primordial to democracy; the more undefined the hope, the better it is. Making hope tangible would be an one of its kind exercise, for which all business schools in the US, together, might not be able to give a blueprint. Physically what is possible or not is a different story, is there an intent?
BREXIT was an referendum and we witness the seriousness attached to its execution. It is a sovereign order. But so are poll manifestos. Why a differential treatment to those sovereign decisions. The intent is the only differentiator . If Poll Manifesto is made the first legislation of a new government, I presume performance is likely to shoot up drastically. Political clarity of goals can give executive the clarity, who have been mandated to deliver.
Democracy is touted as the best governance mechanism and any governance mechanism is worth its delivery mechanism and finally its deliverables. Objectivity in all its dimensions, unison of thought to accept only globally benchmarked standards and robust audit mechanism to support the same can become the the new world democratic order. All cherished democratic and human values will automatically be taken care of.
OBJECTIVITY IN DELIVERABLES CAN BE THE NEW NORMAL IN DEMOCRATIC GOVERNANCE WORLDWIDE.
