A FESTIVAL OF IDEAS TECHNOLOGY
Sirji, what an idea for sure did not generate any ideas; what it did for the business prospects of the company, I am not sure of. Sometimes, the setting & locale provides the serenity, calm, poise and energy for fresh thinking. Infosys, Mysore fits perfectly into this definition. Recently, I spent over five days there, when the idea of ideas flashed from nowhere, why not have an Ideas Festival , the venue being no surprise.
Creativity, innovation, application of mind, positive thinking, out of the box thinking et al, should converge somewhere, otherwise it becomes a sorry spectacle of brandishing of jargons, which has gone on for too long much beyond what we have appetite for. Stray ideas are like flash in a pan, a bit worked upon ideas make sense to the audience and helps gain acceptability as well.
The announcement of such a festival makes people to get into their thinking hats, majority to be able to make sense as an audience and few to perform, win over hearts and minds and herald the initiation of a new idea taking shape. It can also provide a forum to showcase recent successes of new ideas in all spheres of human endeavour. Ideas that can lead to exponential change needs to be categorized and dealt differently.
Judging ideas, that too nebulous ones is not so easy. An eminent panel of judges will add, firstly, credibility to the festival and secondly, make it worthwhile, as we expect their valuable judgement will lead to sure shot success of the idea in the days to come.
With different categories for awards and all major sectors being represented, the festival would become a kaleidoscope of creativity and innovation, with India as its venue and global in its reach. Infosys, Mysore , is best suited to play its host named after none other than A P J Abdul Kalam.
A P J ABDUL KALAM INTERNATIONAL IDEAS FESTIVAL CAN CHANGE THE WAY INDIA THINKS.
