BEING SELF ACTUALIZED IS NOT AN OPTION

Father of positive psychology, Abraham Maslow’s human psychological needs, conceptualized in a  simple pyramid, with self actualization as the top triangle,  needs no introduction. The need to realize one’s full potential is a simplistic definition.  To be there or not, is not a choice we have.

To lead a life to your full potential is a need & not a luxury.  As the deficiency of vitamins throws up issues for the body, so is the case with the human psyche.  The vitamin needs of human psyche can be meet only through self actualization.  The lack of it leads to  psychological dysfunction  manifested in different ways in our daily lives &  the inflicted person is not able to fathom out how & why it has happened.

As long as we move to achieve our goals & do achieve it & move further on the same cycle / progression, its works fine.  Settling for less than the best becomes a problem.  It’s a bottleneck. Lots of us ignore this need.  Lower & higher; both needs have to be meet.  Once the higher level needs are not met;  it leads to dissatisfaction in life,  the reason not understood.  They get demotivated pretty fast, lose bearings of life.

Being human is being a self actualized person.  Self actualized persons are have a superior perception of reality, possess autonomy/individuality, are  more resistant to social conditioning, are comfortable with themselves, have higher frequency of peak experiences, possess greater creativity,  driven by positive & intrinsic motivation, don’t want things for themselves, are capable of embracing existing paradoxes & dichotomies and have solid psychological health. They are  Being-challengers rather than Needs-challengers.  They want to improve the world in a positive way.  At the end of day, it is a higher level of consciousness.  They are the light of the world.

THE SELF ACTUALIZED PERSON IS WHAT BEING HUMAN BEING IS ALL ABOUT.
