GREAT INSTITUTIONS MAKE A GREAT NATION – Contd.

The four enumerated yesterday were

1. National Innovation Hub

2.National Cyber Security Center

3.National Homeland Security Research Center

4.National Public Speaking & Communication Academy

Last but not the least for sure:

A SPECIALISED INSTITUTION FOR GOVERNANCE

The quality of general governance decides the fate of the nation and also the quality of life its citizens. We have institutions galore from fashion designing to forest management but none on core governance of this country. Both the expectation and the service is left to the imagination of the two stakeholders thus emanating the myriad varieties of models from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, both micro and micro, either vanishing in no time or functioning in a moribund manner. Very rarely we get a robust model worth replication nationally, if we do, generally we fail to do so.

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF GOVERNANCE

On the lines of other national institutes of excellence it would first lay down the broad guidelines of public governance, in the public domain, with background, backend linkages and the forward connects, with all rationale and documentation.

Intended to be a world class institution with world class human resources on an interdisciplinary / multidisciplinary model should evolve into one of its kind research and training institution. It should have the potential to provide solutions to nagging governance problems of the day.

This institution will have the capability to bridge the gap between present global positioning and where we intend to reach. Research is the way out and innovation the panacea. Solutions should stick and deliver. Best place for practitioner-academician model to bloom.

GOOD GOVERNANCE IS THE SUM TOTAL OF QUALTY RESEARCH ON PRACTITIONERS EXPERIENCE LEADING TO EXECUTABLE INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS.
