LIFE’s AN INCENTIVE!
We live in an incentivised world, it does not move without a carrot placed in front of the mouth. The first question asked by anybody doing any work, even the most flimsy , is what is in it, for me. Additional work, no way. Might be we start pretty early, training our children into this trade; it becomes their DNA and every single activity of life becomes a trade off. It is supposed to be the harbinger of motivation, but it is very rare to find a very motivated soul.
The educational system is a perfect example of a system being perpetuated on incentives. On the face of it, it is very deceptive. It’s gives a camouflage of merit and talent all around the place. Rank, rewards, prizes and awards are motivators, we have accepted all our life and presumably it is. The Catch 22 Situation is something else. The whole educational process would end up with the final incentive of a lifetime, that is a job. Learning and knowledge would be for rare exceptions. Even national toppers don’t show their knowledge gathering streak all their life. And great resources in the academics hang around there, only for the love of salary, as in any other trade. This trade off brings all trades to a stand still.
In the professional world, the incentive matrix in every organization and across across organisations is the most talked about topic of the corporate world. Overworked & underpaid is the prevalent mindset. This emanates out of unfulfilled or may be even imaginary incentive matrix. The perks being calculated in cash is the harsh reality of a mindset gone haywire. How many times you have done official act / activity / undergone certification for the purpose of an incentive, though heart of heart you don’t find any utility in it. All great performers of the world have struggled for years without any incentive.
Lots of us have been provided with opportunities to excel in life, to create outstanding skills which you and world would be proud of, deliver way beyond what your are doing right now and develop capabilities to serve mankind in your own unique way. It’s not life then the biggest incentive? Do we need to look for a new flimsy one every day. In this wild goose chase, you are finally left in the wild.
LIFE IS THE ONLY REAL INCENTIVE YOU HAVE, MAKE A LIFE OUT OF IT.
