NATIONAL CYBER SECURITY UNIVERSITY – A Pure Research Entity.
Researchers & research is the only light at the at the end of the tunnel, as proven at the time of the recent WannaCry onslaught. Where standard IT industry fails, the saviour can be an unending research, providing solutions to manage crisis & provide prevention on a day to day basis. Areas of critical infrastructure & consequent national security issues can find logical & long lasting solution in an entity of this nature. This is similar to the Singularity University finding solutions through the technologies of the future.
Whatever might be the branch of technology & its worldly usage, IT happens to be its front end & the back end. It’s proper & effective usage means business & impact, which is one of its kind. Rightly or wrongly, cloud would become our future & the biggest obstacle to it security. 74 % non-adoption is attributed to security issues, as per IDC data.
If convergence of technology is going to be the norm, sooner than later, convergence of our efforts to manage this technology, ought to become the norm. Or else it is moving in the direction to become a monster, amply demonstrated in the destructive cyber attacks in recent times. The knowledge, skill & competences are not owned by one entity, business or otherwise, this collaboration, facilitated by the government seems to be the only way forward. A National Cyber Security University will provide the ideal platform with professionals from all stakeholders, with the only intention to equip all entities & even individuals, to face the digital present & even more complicated digital future.
The solutions will just not start falling from the cupboard, this would be an ideal beginning, certainly bringing all efforts on one right track & henceforth the results will follow. The structure of its functioning, legally mandated with an ideal governing council & chief will give a head start, which would be one of its kind. Let it’s creation be the seizing of a historic opportunity.
