STATE OF MIND

While we get into all professional qualifications, experience & expertise while deciding for a professional job nonetheless the  state of mind is not a consideration anywhere.  It becomes an extremely critical factor in the delivery mechanism of the high & the mighty who hold the highest public offices in the land.  They decide the fate of millions with one stroke of a pen, mostly irreversible.  Same for professional highly placed managers.

 State of mind is the major behavioural trait, generally with not much of chance to change.  This streak you can find across the professional & personal life of a person. The reactions is also more than predictable.  The issue is that it goes undiscovered for long periods of time.  The stability of the state of mind of Nelson Mandela and fickle mindedness of Muhammad bin Tughlaq, manifest the state of mind.  An extreme example.  Different shades fill the interregnum.

A compliance state of mind, a rule breaking state of mind, empathy and other such  states of mind have a direct bearing on the way we approach problems  & consequently our professional delivery. These are days when innovative state of mind is ideally suited.  For the entrepreneurs a state of mind comfortable with uncertainty is a must.  The discrepancy in the required state of mind is at the core of start up failure.

In possession of a state of mind which treats  challenges as a day to day activity is more suitable  in today’s time & age. As a natural corollary, it has a capability to handle challenges and thus much more oriented to problem solving.  Exactly the opposite, an evasive state can take us nowhere.

The beauty with the state of mind is that the person having it, is comfortable with it,  finds it to be normal notwithstanding the positive or the negative consequences.  monumental challenge for individuals, enterprises, societies & nations.
