In the fast changing complex world there are lots of capabilities which are becoming primordial to our existence. In our planning, proposals, projects and also for personal growth the capability to project decides the chances to succeed. There are lots of initiatives which are doomed to failure are taken up as the decision makers were not in possession of this capability. The professional world does its planning on static models, fixed management processes and accepted timelines & standardised costing. How does it succeed in the dynamic world!
The capability to project is not an art of prophecy. The ability to understand the project beyond the black and white, the unfolding of it at every stage, the bottlenecks and challenges and a clarity of the result at the the end of the project journey. It’s a Google Map type understanding of the journey before you get onto it. It takes a lot of effort to plan that sort of a journey, you in reality become the technical Human Resource tool to make it happen. People who have the capability to project are the persons who are most likely to deliver.
Why we don’t develop a capability to project? May be one does not know if there is a professional trait of this nature. Find routine / mechanical projections sufficient as results are made out to be matter of destiny. Bad luck. This is the best I could do might be is the most loaded professional statement one can imagine of. It can mean drastically different outputs emanating out of the same statement. The capability to plan as per the real ground & futuristic situations are will always remain a challenge for the uninitiated.
Having taken this challenge, made mistake, learned the hard way, once having gotten the capability to project, you become a success story yourself. You know what facts to pick, in which manner, analyse in most rational manner for the project in question and plan resources as if navigating the real journey. It’s like the Shiva’s third eye.
