The Trump Saga can’t get murkier is what one thinks. Then another skeleton tumbles from the iconic & proverbial Trump’s corporate-political cupboard. The last 20 months of US Presidency has more to offer to the Hollywood script writers than hundreds of years preceding it. A drama extraordinare. Elements that can put all thrillers on it’s head. Endless content which can keep Hollywood busy for at least a decade, enthralling cine goers & researchers of politics world wide.

With his former lawyer Michael Cohen pleading guilty in a New York court yesterday, Trump can truly be termed as the first Standalone President of America. Starting from the Mexican Wall election promise, moving onto various immigration fiascos, losing faith in US intelligence agencies, refugee issue, racism, twitter tirades, women, allies, G7, Mueller 2016 election legal research and finally Helsinki. There he played a conspicuous second fiddle to Putin & absolved him of 2016 election interference, embrassasing US no end. Around 10 Russian intelligence has just been indicted for the same offence. And now the Cohen’s legally tenable revelation.

“Cohen pleaded guilty to counts of tax evasion, making false statements to a financial institution, wilfully causing an unlawful corporate contribution and making a campaign contribution at the request of a candidate or campaign.” This literally puts the whole can of worms on President’s doorstep in every single way. This comes back to back to the trial of Paul Manafort. Beleaguered is an understatement. Standalone President had finally happened.

His rise to power has been meteoric, to say the least. The democratic process feeds on a campaign where the real facts never come to light. How much did the electorate know of Trump? The expertise at camouflaging is the core of democratic campaigning. Novice, amateur, ignorant or crook gets transformed into a leader, visionary or statesman by a quirk of democratic mandate. America is learning the hard way. Does democratic checks & balances need an overhaul?
