DRIVING INNOVATION THROUGH DIGITAL COLLABORATION
With the digital drowning of the world as an impact of COVID-19 and all us inclusive of the IT companies trying to respond and react to it, there is hardly any innovation in the offing. Some odd one would have happened incidentally. Now with the world slowly settling and it would long before it comes back to normal, it’s time that innovation should get into the act once again. The changed scenario would require innovations of a different type in technology to bring us back on foot in so many areas. This would also need a different mode as well. We have a digitally hyper connected world which is physically immobile.
The most astonishing undercurrent of this health crisis is that the whole world is going through the same trauma. Everyone is trying to manage someway or the other. Unemployment and scarcity is slowly becoming the order of the day. Life has become frugal and extremely demanding in every arena. Now it is time to make the best out of the digital technology, which we have so meticulously created having spent huge amount of money and resources. It’s time for it to repay it’s debt to humanity. It’s time that innovation should be driven through digital collaboration only. This would be the paradigm shift in methodology.
The intra company digital collaboration should give way to an intense inter stakeholder collaboration depending on the project and the requirements. The World is Flat should come to life and all resources required for that particular task of creating an innovative product should seamlessly collaborate, location and organisation notwithstanding. The organisations should make their stance known in the public domain on the resources being committed for open innovation. Effective digital collaboration can only take us forward, is what we all have already realised. This is disruptive innovation in the true sense with the methodology of innovation itself getting fully disrupted. It is now a world which is way beyond limited interoperability.
COVID-19 has delivered total digital transformation which all IT behemoths could not deliver. Life has become frugal is an understatement. Travel is not an option now. Digital collaboration by default is going to be the next new normal. Innovation by its very nature is bound to happen in the most transformative times of modern human history.
ONLY OPEN INNOVATION CAN PROVIDE SOLUTIONS TO MOST OF THE COVID-19 TEETHING PROBLEMS.
