Google’s gene1sis is out of a doctoral research work & for sure, lots of doctoral research, all across the globe, have led to applications/usage, making fundamental changes, to our existence. This is at the core of doctoral thesis; providing the core for further path breaking research & a mindset to do so or guide the same. It’s time for stocking taking as to how far we have reached in this enterprise. Do we have doctoral researches leading to further worthwhile researches / application?
With a huge vibrant academic fraternity which the country is proud to possess, there is an urgent need to put their academic output in the public domain as one of its kind knowledge repository, which can put to wide & varied uses, for this country. It will help us create a scientific temper, missing thus far. With huge technical manpower at our command what is lacking is scientific temper.
An indexed digital knowledge repository of all doctoral & post – doctoral works, can be an ideal beginning on our journey towards a knowledge society. Collation is the precursor of collaboration. The threads of collaboration will automatically emanate out of this collation. A grand beginning both on topics to be pursued & Human Resources, which need to collaborate. Super silo research is the manifestation of a Stone Age infrastructure, thought process & mindset, which is not the case in this country.
The analysis of this repository at the meta data level itself, would throw up startling facts & figures for sure unknown to this country. How many research papers do we have on Bastar art? Comparisons of different tribal arts? A random example. There can be a clear understanding of the present Indian research literature available on any topic & that too authenticated one. In the aggregation age, research aggregation should be the last thing to be left behind.
