ARE WE FIT TO BE CALLED SOCIAL?

ARE WE FIT TO BE CALLED SOCIAL?

We have for long being using our personal / family and religious interactions as social and so has been in the case of social responsibilities of taking care of one’s family, near and dear ones, some responsive help to people who helped have been elevated to the level of social. It seems what is not official these days have been termed as social. Playing card games in clubs also falls in that category. Family functions take the pride of the place in what is our understanding of social.

Necessarily so anything that is social does not fit in our frame of mind and for sure not in our scheme of things. Social in an area where society gets benefitted; a small group or a small section. While we have taking care of our agenda in the name of social both the professional, academic and social itself have been relegated to background. Today, we have reached a level where we neither talk of it or nor is it a part of its consciousness. But for some campaigns which are short lived and leads to media hype there is nothing social about social.

Super 30 has been a pure social activity and lots flourish in many areas of this country. The non-scaling to this enterprise speaks volumes about our concern. The scalability happens only in the movie. Leave aside momentous initiatives which need to happen, has there been no initiative to teach a new paradigm of parenting so essential in the Digital Age. The child, parents and the community are all at risk. We are not ready to learn skills and set right things so essential to our existence.

The work of the NGOs got to get connected to the involvement of all. The effort to connect is missing from both the sides. That has not happened and is not likely to happen. A society which fails to connect within itself does not qualify to be a society. Do communities have social agenda? Unheard of! Social Media has usurped whatever was left of the social cause! Rest are different manifestations of having an axe to grind.

SOCIETY TODAY IS WAITNG FOR THE MERCY OF ITS MEMBERS!
